Iran Air to Launch Direct Flights from Quetta to Zahidan and Mashhad
QUETTA: In a significant move to strengthen trade and travel links, Iran Air is set to introduce direct weekly passenger and cargo flights from Quetta to the Iranian cities of Zahidan and Mashhad, according to an announcement made by Ali Reza Rajai, Iran’s Acting Consul General in Quetta.
The new air route is expected to enhance commercial connectivity, reduce travel time and logistical costs for traders, and foster closer economic ties between the two neighboring countries.
The announcement was made during an event organized by the Pak-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce, where senior officials from Iran Air, including Chief Agha Karimi and Deputy Chief Agha Ismail, were also present.
Mr. Rajai emphasized that the direct air service would play a vital role in strengthening port-to-port collaboration between Pakistan’s Gwadar Port and Iran’s Chabahar Port. He also urged both governments to address bureaucratic challenges, especially related to streamlined visa procedures and affordable airfares, to support smoother business operations and tourism between the nations.
